Maren Müller completed her first state examination in Nutritional Science at the University of Hannover (Germany) in 2000 and went on to earn her doctorate at the University of Kiel (Germany) in 2004. This was following by a one year position as a research assistant at the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Barcelona. After a maternity leave and a two and a half year period working as a Food Quality Manager she rejoined to the research group of Sergi Munné-Bosch at the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Barcelona in 2009. Since then, inter alia she is responsible for the plant hormone analysis including cytokinins, auxins, abscisic acid, salicylic acid, jasmonates, gibberellins, melatonin, and brassinosteroids in different plant tissues. Nowadays she is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Barcelona (since 2014) and at the University of Vic (since 2015).
