Physiological Mechanisms Underlying Fruit Sunburn

Fruit sunburn is a common physiological disorder occurring in plants that can result in a morphological and structural phenotype unacceptable to consumers. This disorder that origins from the burning of plant tissues leads to severe losses in productivity for farmers. The ANTIOX group has recently published a new article in Critical Reviews in Plant Sciences where we adress the physiological basis of this phenomenon and highlight the relevance to provide new approaches and tools for improving current mitigation strategies.
